Best Answer: Isn't WDDM just graphic driver architecture? Do you mean where you can find drivers for AMD athlon(tm) II P360 Dual-Core Processor? Windows Display. My laptop is ThinkPad Z60m (Type2529-E3U) with Windows 7 Professional service pack 1. My Windows Experience Index is 1.0, so I have been trying to raise it up, but each time, I get the following error.
With laptops it is always advisable to upgrade drivers from the mfg's web site. Laptops often have model specific drivers, and you would want to verify if the mfg has a newer Win8 graphics driver for your machine. - Other than that it is debatable if there would be any optimisations for the HD4500 series. The best way to find that out would be to read the release notes for any drivers you download. - You should also check if there are newer Win8 drivers for the other system components - audio, LAN, etc.
As you may already be aware, Windows WDDM drivers are the default, or 'generic' graphics drivers for Windows and are not the same as the drivers for your graphics card. The WDDM 1.2 drivers should install automatically with Win8. There is a new AMD driver for WDDM 1.3 (I assume 1.3 will be available via Windows Updates on Win8), but it is a 'preview' version and best left to those interested in BETA testing, and again, possibly not suitable or of benefit for your HD4500..

Windows Display Driver Model Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM, also WVDDM during the Vista time-frame) is the graphic driver architecture for video card drivers running Microsoft Windows versions beginning with Windows Vista.[1] It is a replacement for the Windows XP display driver architecture aimed at enabling better performance graphics and new graphics functionality.[1] WDDM provides the functionality required to render the desktop and applications using Desktop Window Manager, a compositing window manager running on top of Direct3D.
It also supports new DXGI interfaces required for basic device management and creation. The WDDM specification requires at least Direct3D 9-capable video card and the display driver must implement the device driver interfaces for the Direct3D 9Ex runtime in order to run legacy Direct3D applications; it may optionally implement runtime interfaces for Direct3D 10/10.1 and higher. WDDM 1.1 Windows 7 supports major additions to WDDM tentatively known as WDDM 1.1; the details of this new version were unveiled at WinHEC 2008. Without a question it is the: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+, Windows Vista Home Basic, 1GB-RAM, 250GB, 256MB ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO AMD processors were designed from the start for the Gamers and Graphic designers and have more support built into the processor to support them, the card is also stronger in that one but I would still think about upping the video card later if you are going to get into gaming running the best 3D games you will need a card with at least 512 MB.
